Someone once told me that most people would rather stand up and speak than sit down to write. I'm still trying to figure out if that makes me strange or special, but most of my life, I've found that writing is an incredible outlet - or at the very least, the easiest way to say what I mean.
But there has to be something said for the deep thinkers. Those who lay awake at night, staring at the ceiling while they sort out what they believe. And really, knowing what you believe and why are the roads we travel - and the destinations we find. Both in faith and life.
When I was in eight grade, I stood in the middle of a sea of Junior Highers and cried because for the first time in my life, I trusted God with my life. Not because my parents did, but because I recognized his trustworthiness.
That was only the beginning.
I suppose my whole life has a theme of "trusting God in the uncertain places." But trust - we trust in things because they've been proven unshakable. So I guess I've taken to writing about those things which I'm finding and learning - everything from faith to fiction to poetry to hot topics. And then there's my other favorite topic - History (whether you believe it or not, History is relevant to everything).
Hugs to you and yours,
Emily Bergstrom
